EFFECTS OF BETAINE-RICH NANO FERTILIZER ON IMPROVING PHYSIOLOGY OF Zea mays var. saccharata AND Arabidopsis thaliana UNDER SALT STRESS

Salinity is the second major obstacle after drought conditions that hinder high productivity of plants. Many factors contribute to salinity problem, consequently affects plant physiology, growth as well production. Therefore, this research aims determine effects betaine-rich Nano fertilizer on physiological parameters sweet corn (Z. mays var. saccharata) and A. thaliana under salt stress. In study, plants were grown in a controlled room. Five levels (S0:0 dS/m, S1:2 S2:4 S3:6 S4:8 dS/m), two concentrations betaine (B0:0 mM B1: 50 mM) application (N0: without N1: with fertilizer) tested Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) three replicates. Data for chlorophyll content, fluorescence (FV/FM), leaf relative water content (RWC) recorded. The results analyzed using two-way analysis variance (ANOVA) followed by Duncan posthoc test. Sweet stress showed significant increase RWC, but not FV/FM. it anticipated could reduce improving thaliana.
